Hello all!
I wanted to share my birthday gift from my boyfriend that he got me at Dapper Day!
This dress is so cute, I cannot wait to wear it at a future Dapper Day, not to mention all the Halloween fun events in the future.
He picked this up at the Dapper Day event at Disneyland, but you can click and buy one here.
Shoes are from Biion Footwear. Petticoat is from Amazon. Belt also from Amazon.
Happy Shopping!

Dapper Day is back! I am so happy about this, I cannot properly express it.
This year’s was a smaller than usual, which was expected, but it was a great event that we were so ready to make its return.
I wore this cute Edna Mode dress from shopdisney.com. Click on link to buy.
I absolutely love this dress! I had no idea, but it has my catch-phrase, “Style is Your Superpower” on it, and it is in my favorite colors!
The petticoat is from Amazon, as are the shoes. The glasses and cigarette holder are also from Amazon. Click on links to buy!
Now, we await Spring Dapper Day 2022!
See ya there…

The other day we broke down Benji’s Robin Hood dapper look, and now it is my turn.
I went to Dapper Day as Robin Hood’s bestie, Little John.
Disney’s Little John is my favorite Disney character. I love his sense of fun, positivity, loyalty and justice. I know that is a lot to attach to an animated character, but he made quite an impression on me as a kid.
Here is a reference photo:
Now, let’s break it down using the Team Build Checklist:
The Leader for this bound would be the bear ears. I decided to go with a Mickey ear headband, but with brown ears because, bear. I also got really lucky and found these custom-made ears by To Never Neverland on Etsy. These ladies have tons of great ear headbands for every character imaginable. Please check out their page. The headband is also super comfortable. The little feather detail was just perfect.
My “supersuit” would be my dress, the foundation for any Dapper Day look. This dress is from Unique Vintage. The petticoat is from Amazon.
Little John’s outfit is pretty simple. Green tunic, shoes and hat. The best detail to let people know I was bounding Little John was a money bag. We found these perfect purses on Amazon. I actually added jump rings, removed the strap and attached the purse to my belt to create a fanny pack of sorts. The belt is from Amazon as well.
There really wasn’t any special make-up or hair needed for this bound, but because it was Dapper Day, a red lip was the perfect finishing touch. My red lip is MAC in Ruby Woo.
I hope that our latest bounds got you inspired for Spring Dapper Day! Hope to see you there, and happy shopping!

InPlainSight.style’s latest group cosplay was for Fall Dapper Day at Disneyland. We went as Robin Hood and Little John.
In this post, we’ll break-down Benji’s Robin Hood dapper cosplay using the Team Build Checklist.
Here is a good reference photo to build upon.
This photo has Robin wearing a yellow hat, however, in appearances in the parks and for most of the film, he is wearing a green hat. So, we went with a green hat.
Robin’s hat serves as both the Leader and the Brick because his ears are a part of that. His hat was important to show the character as Robin Hood, but also a dapper version of Robin.
We chose a newsboy cap from Amazon. Then we purchased a set of fox ears and tail from Spirit Halloween. I cut the ears off of the headband, cut holes in the hat and worked the ears through the holes. Then I secured the ears with hot glue.
The Scientist needed to be green shoes, so we found some Chuck Taylor-style shoes from Amazon.
The Exotic needs to be the outfit itself. What makes him Robin Hood and not just a fox wearing clothes. Now for the tunic. A tunic is not dapper, so we went with a button down and tie. Because Robin is an outlaw, we decided with a business tie, but left undone. The shirt and tie and both from Amazon.
The pants we went with brown as a substitute for the fox fur legs.
We opted to not do fox make-up because it is Dapper Day and not a full-on cosplay. WE did need one more item to finish the look. Because Robin is busy robbing, he needed a money bag to keep his treasure in. As luck would have it, I found a purse literally shaped like a money bag on Amazon.
Next up is my Little John look. Until then, happy shopping!

We got to go to our second Dapper Day at Disneyland recently. We spent a day in the parks and a day at the Dapper Day Expo. For our parks day, I wore my new Captain America Stealth dress to both parks.
Dress is from Grace Karin on Amazon. Belt is from Amazon. Foam shield from Disneyland park. Shoes are my DIY saddle shoes, which you can get instructions to make your own here. For DIY for the star and bars for the dress, click here.
Cap himself said that he had never worn that uniform so well, so he liked it!
Spidey also loved it, and asked if he could “borrow” my shield.
Captain Marvel also loved the look and really liked the idea of comfy saddle shoes! I also crossed universes and went to Batuu!
Please enjoy the pics and send us pics from your Dapper Day. We love to hear from you!
Until next time…

For my latest cosplay, I put together a look for Dapper Day of my favorite Captain America suit, the stealth suit.
The dress is pretty easy to put together. I found some iron-on transfer paper at a craft store. With that, a star-shaped cookie cutter and a straight edge, I was able to create the stealth dress.
When choosing your star, make sure you choose one that is good scale to your body. Then you will need three stripes on each side, again, keep an eye on the scale. The stripes end at the arms at a 90 degree angle, but are diagonally cut to fit close to the star. The lengths also vary, with two shorter stripes on the top and bottom and the longest in the middle.
Here are some reference pictures for you:
Here is a shopping guide for the look:

Happy shopping and crafting!

Just an fyi, we are on a mini-vacay this week and next to attend Dapper Day weekend at Disneyland and Dressed to the 9 3/4 Day at Universal Hollywood!
As you can imagine, we are in hard-core prep-mode, so we are taking a post vacation.
We will be back in mid-November with new content!
Until then, Happy Dapper Day!!!

I get a lot of compliments as well as comments on my clothes, which I love, but one comment that gives me pause is a comment such as, “I wish I had places to wear a dress that fancy.”
OK, so first of all, it is really hard to be truly overdressed somewhere. Obviously, wearing a prom dress to work or a tuxedo to the grocery store is pretty over-the-top, but what about that great dress you bought to wear to someone’s wedding and is now languishing in the back of your closet (I just love that I got to use “languishing”, #englishmajor)? Well, use some great basics to dress it down for everyday.
Perfect example is my Haunted Mansion dress. My lovely boyfriend bought it for me for Dapper Day, and then I stopped wearing it. I love it, but the top has some ruching on the bodice that is very prom-y, so I stopped wearing it. Then, time passed and it was our anniversary. I wanted to wear the dress he bought me out on our date, but I didn’t have time to change after work. So, challenge accepted!
OK, so first, I needed to dress down the bodice. I did this with a cotton crop tee from Amazon. Just enough of the pretty ruching shows through.
Next, here’s my Dapper Day look:
Obviously, I left off the petticoat, fascinator, pearls and gloves for a great everyday look.
Here are some more pictures of me wearing a Disney Dress Shop dress everyday. If you decide to take that dress out on the town, then add those dapper touches.
Honestly, dresses are instant outfits. You literally just throw them over your head, and you have a look. Now, more than ever, there are amazing choices for nerd bounding that are dress-and-go.
So, challenge yourself to take something that you originally visualized as super dapper or fancy and “dress it down” for everyday wear.

A couple of weeks ago, the kiddo and I were lucky enough to attend our first Dapper Day at Disneyland!
Dapper Day is something I’ve always wanted to attend, but just never had the opportunity to do so.
A little background on Dapper Day. Two times a year at Disneyland, WDW and Disneyland Paris, Disney hosts a Dapper Day event. This event has an Expo, where you can purchase dresses, shoes, gloves, sunglasses, hats, bowling shirts, parasols, etc. and then it is off to the parks to enjoy your day in your dapper finery. Visit their website here for more information.
Here are some wonderful pictures from our Dapper Day. If you got a chance to attend, what were your thoughts? Please comment and let us know. We love to hear from you!
We decided this is the first of many Dapper Days to come for us. We were super inspired. As a matter of fact, we are going to focus on more dapper inspired mash-ups with our cosplay and bounding for everyday in the coming year on our blog. So stay tuned for that!
My dress is from The Disney Dress Shop. I’m wearing a 3xl, but it is a little big on me. I wear a size 18/20 for reference. Bolero from Torrid. My fascinator is from Amazon. My shoes are from Skechers.
Scout’s bow tie is from Amazon. His vest is from Goodwill. Newsboy cap from Target.
Happy Shopping and hope to see you at the next Dapper Day Expo!
Love, Kim and Scout
