After a holiday break and a facelift, I am excited to be back for our 6th year!
2020 was awful, but now we have a new year, a new President and a new vaccine. So, I am hopeful about the future.
Please take a look around the new site and our new shop! Just click on that top menu to take a look. I’ve also added my Poshmark Closet for you to shop. In addition to the book, I have accessory packs, berets and other goodies!
As most of you have figured out, we are holding off on new posts while the COVID pandemic is still in full-on mode. We know that we provide an escape, but right now we both feel that posting about adventures and such is not tasteful. We originally planned to start up again in July, but the COVID cases have taken a large upturn here in the USA. So, we are going to hold for now on new posts, but WE WILL BE BACK!
As soon as cases finally begin to decline in the USA, we will begin posting again.
In the meantime, I do have a new book that is soon to publish! It is based on articles written here on this site and acts as a workbook/organizational tool for your wardrobe and cosplays. I will post when it is available for sale.
We are sending everyone good thoughts at this difficult time. Please stay safe and healthy and wear those masks!
I hope everyone had an amazing time over the holidays. We had a great time, and now we are looking forward to a new year of fashion! There are some great new things coming up this year that we need to get ready for. WonderCon, Spring Dapper Day and the opening of the Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure.
Until then, here’s a quick recap of my holiday trip to Disneyland (Benji had theatre and couldn’t make it. Just want you all to know I’m not a jerk that went to Disneyland without my kid!)
I wore my Disney Dress Shop dress and silver holo ears.
This dress is no longer available at shopdisney.com, but you can still get it on Amazon. Same goes for the ears.
I had a great time enjoying the holiday decor, not to mention the treats.
So, here is our first outfit of the day for the year. A year with tons of fashion adventures ahead. So, stay tuned…
Benji and I had a fantastic Thanksgiving break this year! LA was hit by a massive storm for much of the weekend, so instead of warm butterbeer at Universal, we saw some movies out and watched some of our favorite holiday movies as well.
For Thanksgiving Day, we continued our new tradition of going to Medieval Times for dinner. We had a fantastic time!
Medieval Times has a new show, with a twist, so I will say no more, but it was a lot of fun!
So glad we bought two photos, so we could take a nice one after the goofy one:
The day after our dinner adventure, we went to the new Funko Headquarters in Hollywood.
The headquarters is a store and also full of endless photo ops. Admission is free, and we cannot recommend going enough!
Here is a photo of the map and also a photo of a special limited edition print they were selling…
Here are a couple of photos from the day. In our next post, we will post the rest of them. Enjoy!
The other day we broke down Benji’s Robin Hood dapper look, and now it is my turn.
I went to Dapper Day as Robin Hood’s bestie, Little John.
Disney’s Little John is my favorite Disney character. I love his sense of fun, positivity, loyalty and justice. I know that is a lot to attach to an animated character, but he made quite an impression on me as a kid.
Here is a reference photo:
Now, let’s break it down using the Team Build Checklist:
The Leader for this bound would be the bear ears. I decided to go with a Mickey ear headband, but with brown ears because, bear. I also got really lucky and found these custom-made ears by To Never Neverland on Etsy. These ladies have tons of great ear headbands for every character imaginable. Please check out their page. The headband is also super comfortable. The little feather detail was just perfect.
Little John’s outfit is pretty simple. Green tunic, shoes and hat. The best detail to let people know I was bounding Little John was a money bag. We found these perfect purses on Amazon. I actually added jump rings, removed the strap and attached the purse to my belt to create a fanny pack of sorts. The belt is from Amazon as well.
There really wasn’t any special make-up or hair needed for this bound, but because it was Dapper Day, a red lip was the perfect finishing touch. My red lip is MAC in Ruby Woo.
I hope that our latest bounds got you inspired for Spring Dapper Day! Hope to see you there, and happy shopping!
