Marvel Bound: Bucky’s Madripoor Look

Our latest outfit of the day is Bucky’s club look from Madripoor.

It is actually an easy look to pull off as it is all black. The key is getting a tux jacket. I found mine at Lane Bryant a long time ago, but I also found one at Amazon. Click on links to buy.

I paired the look with black jeggings, combat boots and a black tee.

To dress it up a bit and make it more recognizable, I added Bucky’s Dog Tags and the Big Three Pin from our store.

This is a quick and easy bound that anyone can put together with a couple of items.

How to Style a Spirit Jersey

Now, THIS is a challenge! I swore to all that was holy that I would never ever get a spirit jersey. They are big, boxy, but tapered enough at the bottom that they don’t hang right on you. They are just plain, well, not a good look. My opinion, of course.

But then, Disney did this to me…

Needless to say, I bought a spirit jersey. Get your own here. Once I received it, I had to take scissors to it first to remove the high neck. T-shirt surgery tutorial here. Make sure you don’t cut the back too low to keep the awesome lettering on the back. Then I cropped it off so I could wear it with high-waisted leggings or skirts.

Because the top is so voluminous, you need to balance out the bottom of the outfit with something close to the body. Balance is key.

I paired my spirit jersey with my new Big 3 pin and Bucky Barnes dogtags. I wore a stretch pencil skirt from Forever 21 with it and some silver clunky sneakers from Fila. Click on links to buy.

Shop Your Closet: Marvel Print Skirt and Classic Her Universe Shirt

For our latest outfit of the day, we have a couple pieces that I shopped my closet for to put together something new.

I have this classic shirt from Her Universe that I absolutely love! If the shirt ever gives out, I will be taking the collar off and putting it on another shirt. That is how much I love this piece!

With Avengers Campus opening soon at Disneyland, I thought I’d do a little closet shopping to put some different pieces together and make new outfits.

I paired this shirt with my Her Universe Marvel print skirt from Torrid. I added some retro-inspired accessories, like a belt and petticoat, and we were good to go!

Last touch was to add my Chuck Taylors by Converse to keep the retro feel, but with max comfort for walking around a park or con.

Have you ever shopped your closet? If not, then why not give it a go?! It can give some of your favorite pieces new life.

However, if you want to shop this look, just click on the links. Enjoy!

Outfit of the Day: Styling a Kimono

For our latest outfit of the day, I am styling a kimono-style jacket. Now, I know that this isn’t an actual Kimono, but this cut and style is called as such in stores, so I am using the term as reference and not under the delusion that it is an actual Kimono.

I have a few of these jackets, and I love the ease in which they can take an outfit to the next level.

I have a goth style on in this post, but I also have a buffalo plaid one and a navy blue one covered in stars that I pair with my super hero tees.

This Kimono is from Torrid. The shirt and shorts are from Lane Bryant. Tights are from Snag. My trusty tall boots from Forever 21. My hat is one of my faves. I got it at Target.

The key to styling this piece is balance. Make sure you pair it with things that fit close to the body- sheath dresses, pencil skirts, leggings, etc.

Another way to style this would be with a body-con dress and clunky sneakers. That would be more comfy on a hot day.

Whatever you decide, have fun with it! Kimonos are not expensive and very versitile! Click on links to shop.

Outfit of the Day: Styling Shorts

If you’re like me, you are not a shorts person. Not that I have a problem with my legs showing, after all, I wear a number of mini-skirts, but I just don’t like the way they look on their own. So, I decided to create an outfit using shorts and a t-shirt in a different way. I hope you like it!

So, first off, the shorts are a comfy stretch denim Bermuda short from Lane Bryant. Their denim tends to fit me well, but you choose whatever store makes your preferred jeans to find your shorts. I also picked a longer cut because my thighs pretty much require it. Super short shorts ride up too much to make room for my legs, so I went a little longer.

I went with a more goth look here, but you can pick any tee that suits you to go with the shorts. This tee is from Hot Topic.

I put on tights from Snag under the shorts with tall boots. You don’t have to go with tights, but again, with my “ride up” situation, putting tights on helps the shorts stay put for me.

You can go with a combat boot, tall boots like I did, or a super clunky sneaker to complete the look. My boots are from Forever 21.

Marvel Bound: Doctor Strange Dapper

For our latest look of the day, I went into some looks I created during the pandemic for future trips to Disneyland and cons- Doctor Strange Dapper.

I created this look entirely from Amazon finds. Shopping links will be below.

I started with a 50’s swing dress in navy blue. I bought this dress in every color available in my size. The fabric is so soft and stretchy, but it keeps its shape and looks like taffeta, in my humble opinion. Petticoat is from Amazon.

Next, we needed the good Doctor’s Cloak of Levitation. For a 50’s look, I went with a capelet.

The belt I mixed a 50’s stretch belt with one that looks more like Doctor Strange’s belt.

I put the comfy Chuck Taylors with this look for walking all over parks and cons.

Last touches were the Eye of Agamotto and his Sling Ring.
